Damon Arnette Denies Methamphetamine Arrest, Cites Prescription

Former Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Damon Arnette is disputing reports of his recent arrest for methamphetamine and gun possession, asserting that the situation is a misunderstanding. Arnette’s attorneys have released a statement, asserting that their client’s name will be cleared and that they are working with local law enforcement to rectify the matter before any charges are brought by the District Attorney’s Office.

Arnette’s Defense

Arnette’s attorneys, Jason Lampert and Thomas Wynne, have stated that at the time of the stop, Arnette was unable to provide law enforcement with his prescription for a lawful medication. They claim that the arrest was based on Arnette’s inability to prove that the medication was prescribed, and assert that if he had been able to do so at the time of the stop, there would have been no arrest for either the controlled substance or the firearms.

Legal Situation

Arnette’s legal team believes that once the methamphetamine charge is resolved, the gun charge will also be addressed, as it is legal in Texas to carry a weapon without a license.

Previous Incidents

This is not the first time Arnette has made headlines for the wrong reasons. In 2021, he was released from the Raiders after making threats and displaying firearms on video. Additionally, he has had multiple off-field incidents, including a previous arrest in July 2022, during which he was berated by police.
