Three members of the University of Wyoming swim team met a tragic end in a devastating car crash in northern Colorado. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, resulted in the loss of young lives and has left the university community in mourning.

Details of the Accident

According to the Colorado State Police, a Toyota RAV4 carrying five passengers veered off the road and rolled over at approximately 2:44 PM. The violent crash led to the ejection of two individuals and left the SUV severely damaged. Tragically, three victims, aged between 18 and 21, were pronounced dead at the scene. The Denver Post reported that the deceased were members of the UW swim and diving team, while the two surviving victims also belong to the same team.

University’s Response

Following the heartbreaking incident, UW Director of Athletics, Tom Burman, expressed his condolences, stating, “My thoughts and prayers are with our swimming and diving student-athletes, coaches, families, and friends. It is difficult to lose members of our University of Wyoming family, and we mourn the loss of these student-athletes.”
